Annie’s Nursery Reveal

Personal

July 21, 2020

Good morning friends! I cant believe this is going to be my last blog post before our sweet girl arrives! I’ve spent most of my time quarantine designing and bringing her nursery to life- Something I wouldn’t have had time to do if I had a full spring wedding season (So this season of unknown has been very bittersweet for me) When we found out we were having a girl back in February, I told Eddie I wanted her nursery to be three things; southern, feminine and classic (with not a lot of pink) LOL the pink part clearly didn’t last long.

We decided we would transform my office space into her nursery & create a built-in office space right off her room so I can work while she naps (If you follow me on social media you’ve seen this transformation!) When the design process started I wanted her room to be white with an accent wall of this gorgeous wallpaper I found that had “vanilla hydrangeas”. After discovering it would cost almost $800 just to wallpaper one wall (LOL) we went in a different direction- Who knew wallpaper was so expensive?!? I ended up ordering probably 15 samples of different floral patterned wallpapers & I ended up going with the very last sample I received (which ended up not being florals at all). We ended up painting her walls Sherwin William’s “Gorgeous White” with an accent wall of a very modern blush wallpaper. Its perfect. Eddie was skeptical at first but now its our favorite room!

After the very long process of making wall decisions, I moved on to little details like her light fixture which features a classic ceiling medallion, her floating shelves that hold a mixture of my watercolor paintings & old wooden toys my mother passed down to me, her sweet monogramed quilt from Saddle Stitches and her bookshelf filled with books I used to read when I was little. Her entire nursery is the perfect mix of sentimental hand me downs & sweet girly details I hope she loves.

Also before I stop rambling, I wanted to give a huge shout out to our friends Chris & Casey for gifting us her wooden name sign. They gave pictures of our nursery to The Crafty Queen here in Murrells Inlet and they created the absolutely PERFECT name sign that completed her room. This room is definitely my favorite space in our house and I hope y’all love it as much as we do. We cannot WAIT to meet our girl any day now!!!
